Readers, over the years many of you have reached out to us to say that you’d love to see the Blade do a podcast, bringing our leftist co-operative’s sharp perspective on local news in a form you can listen to.
Well, we have. We’re now proud to present our first episode of the Asheville Bladecast.
That’s right, in collaboration with the wonderful folks at Asheville FM, the Blade is now producing a monthly podcast on the realities facing our town. The Bladecast will take a deeper look at local events, our co-op’s work and our communities’ struggles for survival and liberation.
In our first episode, City Hall is a Racket, myself and Blade reporter Matilda Bliss delve into the incredibly right-wing city budget, a horrific police murder in Fletcher, the covid wave that seemingly never ends and more.
Thank you, as always, to our subscribers and supporters for making this possible. Asheville FM’s a great station and we’re honored to work with them to make this a reality. We hope you’ll listen and find it useful.
